Ten individuals sentenced of digital abuse directed at Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has found guilty ten people for engaging in the online harassment of Brigitte Macron, the partner of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.

The accused individuals faced allegations of disseminating untruths regarding her gender identity and sexuality, in addition to publishing defamatory statements about the couple's significant age difference.

The court issued suspended prison sentences of a maximum of eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has still to be made public.

A circulating unfounded claim suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has spread widely since her husband's rise to the presidency in 2017.

This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons pursuing a legal action for defamation in the United States of America against political commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's biological sex.

Their complaint contends that Owens ignored all credible evidence disproving her claim opting to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.

Owens has often echoed these claims on her podcast and social networks, and in March 2024 stated that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her belief that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.

Brigitte Macron first met her future husband when she taught at his lycée.

The couple married in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
